Art Centre is located in downtown Belgrade, near National Theatre, park and many other Belgrade landmarks but most significant for this project was a 100 years old Oak tree that was main accent in our project.

Such factors were important in determining the perimeter of the plan and the genesis of the building itself was developed around the tree.

The new cultural Centre was designed as multipurpose object. As situation demanded the building was treated considering all those aspects, especially the tree that became the main symbol of the building as symbolic the tree is symbol of life itself and therefor those two elements have become equal.

The building has transformed and developed around tree from one logical space into two parts that connects with glass tube, a central footbridge.

The one part of the building is solid shaped, and it is house to workshops and the other one that is gallery is transparent.

The accent on the glass exhibition space is the elevator that erects to the roof top and the ramp that goes around the edge of the exhibition spaces trough four floors.

 In this project the main idea was to represent the term of Fashion industry today. The concept was to design a building with different yet similar activities connected under same roof.

The architectural character of the building was planned to be as a work in progress analogues to a fashion industry today, which has the capacity to change over  time in response to new needs not only in functional but in aesthetic way.

The form and detailing are reflecting industrial, transient nature of fashion industry, design, advertising and film production.

The Fashion Centre was imagined as an institution where the process of designing starts from sketch to final product. It is not only Fashion Academy, but Fashion Industry House that connects all parts of fashion related fields ; photo studios, fashion runways, fashion history exhibition space, photo studios etc.
